Join us as we celebrate our 10th Anniversary of Camp SPCA. The SPCA of Tompkins County is proud to offer a summer camp where 9-12 year olds will spend an exciting week learning all about animals. This year Camp SPCA 2016 will be offering eight sessions with 16 kids attending each session. The hours for Camp SPCA are 9:00am until 3:00pm, Monday through Friday with the exception of the week of July 4th. For that week we are offering camp Tuesday through Friday. Each child is eligible to enroll for just one week so we can offer the experience to as many children as possible. Your child must be 9-12 years old the week they attend.

Our campers discover the world of our animal friends through various speakers, enjoyable activities and fun field trips. We are currently finalizing our schedule but we intend to provide 4 field trips for our campers. Transportation will be provided by the Ithaca School District bus and driver. Previous destinations have included Meadowgate Horse Rescue Farm in Newfield, Cayuga Nature Center in Ithaca, Tartan Acres Alpaca Farm in Homer and Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen.

Scholarships Available

Through the generosity of a local foundation there are 6 scholarship spaces available for 2015 Camp SPCA.

In order to qualify, families who apply must be on at least one form of state or federal public assistance (Food Stamps, SSI, SSD and/or Medicaid)

Proof of eligibility needs to be provided at the time of registration and spaces will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. The registration fee will be paid in full through the scholarship but families must be able to provide their own transportation to and from the SPCA for normal camp hours. A brief paragraph must be attached to the application from the parent and/or child indicating why attending Camp SPCA would be beneficial.

Please Note: Children who attended Camp SPCA 2015 on a scholarship are not eligible for scholarships positions in 2016 or any other camp year.
