Simon has a history of asthma, allergies, dental problems and timidity,
and when we adopted him he had a nasty respiratory infection. He was
treated with antibiotics and we moved our Ionic Breeze Quadra to "Simon’s
room" to help with the asthma. In his time with us, Simon has grown
increasingly healthy, playful, bold, talkative and HUNGRY! He has a sweet,
affectionate temperament and is, overall, a joy to live with. We think he
is genuinely happy and feels safe with us. So - three cheers for our
beloved Simon, an SPCA success story!

Membership and Donations
Did you know that in a single year the Tompkins County SPCA is a
temporary home for close to 3,000 animals? We take in animals
surrendered by the public, or stray and abandoned animals found in the
county. It is our primary mission to offer refuge, nourishment, medical
care -- and to find a loving home for life for every healthy and
treatable animal who comes to us.
The Tompkins County SPCA serves local people and their pet companions.
We are not affiliated with any national organization or branch of government, so donation dollars
provide benefits and services to animals and their guardians right here in Tompkins
County, including:
- Shelter, food, and veterinary care for homeless animals
- Pet adoptions at the shelter 7 days a week and at off-site events
- Free and low-cost spay/neuter for low-income families' dogs and cats
- Foster care for hundreds of sick and injured animals every year
- Lifesaving medical care including surgery
- Behavior rehabilitation for dogs and cats with problems
- 24-hour emergency care for sick and injured animals
