Pet Adoption

When you adopt a dog or cat from the Tompkins County SPCA, your new friend comes with a whole lot of extras to get you started:

¨       Pets have been vaccinated for many diseases (puppies and kittens have received their first set but may need more)

¨       General health and behavior screening

¨       All dogs and cats, including puppies and kittens, already spayed/neutered 

¨       Free bag of Science Diet pet food 

¨       Free engraved identification tag

¨       A free veterinary exam by most local veterinarians within two weeks of adoption

¨       Free dog behavior counseling if your dog isn’t adjusting well or later develops problems

¨       Alumni discount for any SPCA dog obedience class.

¨       Two week guarantee that if your pet gets sick, we will take him/her back and refund your adoption fee.

¨       Staff support if you have questions or comments about your pet seven days a week (except national holidays)
