On Friday, May 11th from 11:00am to 3:00pm,
Lou “the hot dog guy” Cassiniti will be donating
the profits from his hot dog cart on the Ithaca
Commons to the Tompkins County SPCA!
“Ketchup” with SPCA staff, volunteers, & pets
at our mobile adoption site next to Lou’s cart.
Our kitties and pups would “relish” the chance
to go home with you!
Don’t be a “weenie,” get your “buns” down to
the Commons on Friday May 11th! Have lunch
with Lou and help save homeless
animals in Tompkins County!

Volunteers Needed at the TCSPCA
Help save lives!
Calling all animal lovers! The Tompkins County SPCA needs volunteers!
There's a world of opportunities for you to use your special skills to help
homeless animals in our community. While we always need volunteers to help care
for our shelter dogs, cats, and bunnies, we also need people to answer phones at
the adoption desk, assist with maintenance and carpentry projects, monitor and
greet guests in the dog wing, counsel potential adopters, and help with special
events and creative projects like our float for the Ithaca Festival parade.
If you love animals and can give us one shift per week, ten hours per month, with
a one-year commitment, (one school year for students) we can promise you good
feelings and fun. You can pick up an application at the Dorothy & Roy Park Pet
Adoption Center, or download one here!
Send your application in by March 5th to be eligible for the next volunteer
orientation session on March 10th.
In addition to a little cat or dog hair on your clothes, you will go home with the
knowledge that your efforts made a difference in the life of a homeless cat or dog in
our community.
For more information about volunteering opportunities at the TCSPCA, call
(607) 257-1822 extension 224 or email info@spcaonline.com.

Memorial Brick Walkway
In response to the many inquiries we’ve received since opening the Dorothy & Roy Park Pet
Adoption Center, the Tompkins County SPCA is proud to announce a permanent and
affordable opportunity for friends and families to create memorials or tributes to their
loved ones. Construction on a memorial brick walkway will begin in Spring 2007.
Beginning at the Carol Steiger Memorial Garden
just outside the dog wing, the brick walkway will
wind through the grounds at the Pet Adoption
Center.
We invite you to create a lasting tribute to your
loved one. Bricks are available for $50 for a
traditional 4x8” brick or $100 for a larger 8x8”
brick and can be inscribed with your loved one’s name or a special message. Proceeds will
go toward supporting our mission of sheltering and finding homes for homeless animals in
Tompkins County.
To order a brick(s), click here, print and fill out the form and mail with your payment to:

Callie Cat Enjoying the Christmas Tree

We adopted Callie (formerly called Chablis) when she was just a few months old last
March. She was shy and tiny, but held her own with our collie, Ciara, and very quickly
wiggled her way into all our hearts! She and Ciara are best buddies, and Callie is a
beautiful, full grown cat, full of purrrrsonality! She enjoys racing Ciara to bouncing
balls, and proudly tries to fetch them before Ciara can!!! We are so glad that Callie
is part of our family, and can't imagine life without her. Thanks for bringing her
into our lives!
