Did you know that in a single year the SPCA of Tompkins County is a temporary home for close to 3,000 animals? We take in animals surrendered by the public and help stray and abandoned animals in Tompkins County. It is our primary mission to offer refuge, nourishment, medical care - and to find a loving home - for every healthy and treatable animal who comes to us. The SPCA of Tompkins County's main source of funding is charitable donations from private citizens and businesses. Your donation will help feed and care for the animals and will help us provide programs to educate the public on the importance of proper animal care. We are not affiliated with any national organization or branch of government. Donation dollars provide benefits and services to the animals right here in Tompkins County, including:
- Shelter, food and veterinary care for homeless animals
- Pet adoptions at the shelter 6 days a week and at off-site events
- Free and low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for the dogs and cats of qualified county residents
- Foster care for hundreds of sick and injured animals every year
- Lifesaving medical care including surgery
- Behavior rehabilitation for dogs and cats with problems
- 24-hour emergency care for sick and injured animals
If you do not want to go online to donate, just print THIS FORM to fill out and mail with your check. All donations are appreciated!

Stories
"About 3 years ago I came to your shelter because my niece told me you had a lot of cats rescued from Hurricane Katrina. But I fell for a cat you had there by the name of Georgia. She is so spoiled. I love her and everyone she comes in touch with does also. She brings me great joy. I love her so much and if I should ever adopt another animal it will be from your fine establishment."
