The SPCA Annex at The Shops at Ithaca Mall is a satellite adoption center we opened in May of 2009. We had not planned on creating a satellite location, but were pleased to seize the opportunity to increase cat and kitten adoptions at the height of ‘kitten-season.’

The success of the Annex was unprecedented. More than 1,500 cats and kittens – and several other small pets – have been adopted from the Annex since it opened, often by people who have never visited our main location on Hanshaw Road. Dozens of people enter the Annex every day to visit with the kitties, to drop off donations of pet food and supplies, and to share stories of the pets they have adopted from the SPCA.

Housing primarily cats and kittens, the Annex occasionally has other small pets available for adoption - rabbits, guinea pigs, pet rats, hamsters, and more. SPCA staff and volunteers keep the Annex operating smoothly both before and during its business hours. Volunteers are always needed, especially on weekdays.

Free parking, longer hours than our Dorothy and Roy Park Pet Adoption Center at 1640 Hanshaw Road, and lots to do at the Mall make the Annex a great place to visit and adopt a new forever friend!
